After establishing the foundation to the score, I began to form a simple, AB, musical structure. Although the motif, mentioned in the post prior: The Score: The Foundation, is continuous throughout the entire score in some form or another. I wanted enough differentiation to allow such a contrast to be defined as individual sections.
Section A is comprised of the motif accompanied by legato strings and synth sounds. The overall feel of this section is smooth and connected. An example of a single section A can be heard below:
Section B is comprised of the motif accompanied by a staccato bass guitar and pizzicato plucks. The overall feel of this section is intended to create the feeling of a desire, impulse, or urge. This was accomplished by having the bass guitar play a continuous string of eight notes, subtly driving the quarter note motif. An example of a single section B can be heard below:
The final musical structure is a AAABABABAA form.
