The Score: The Foundation

Traditionally most motion picture scores are created post video production. However because I was the producer of both the video and musical elements for my Kickstarter Campaign Intro Video I went about such a process a bit differently. 

I knew from the start that I wanted the score to be overall dreamlike and graceful with a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments for contrast. While exploring several of my recently purchased virtual instruments, in search of a bell, mallet or string sound, I stumbled upon a heavily percussive combination of the three. The chosen sound was categorized and named within the piano family, however, because it was a densely manipulated version of a true acoustic piano, it was the perfect fit for the simple four note motive that had been evolving in my mind. This motive, shown below, was the foundation of the entire score.
