Even with the knowledge that each new school year presented an abundance of unpleasant schoolwork, I could hardly wait to see Ms. Richardson. I was eager to show her the completed score of my Duo for PIano and Violin.
Stringed Orchestra rehearsal was first period, as usual, so I was able to see Ms. Richardson first thing after dropping my books off at my locker.
Ms. Richardson greeted me with a smile, curious about the outcome of California Summer Music. I gave her a quick rundown, highlighting the exciting events, of my trip across the country. I then handed her the completed score of my Duo for Piano and Violin. She reviewed it closely in its entirety, even having seen the first portion I had drafted prior to music camp. After turning the final page of the score, signaling me that she was finished, Ms. Richardson commended me with verbal praise. Such positive reinforcement only further motivated me to compile a presentable draft of my Prelude No. 2, so that I could show her the contrast in my writing style from my newly acquired outlook.
