I have always enjoyed the subject of Mathematics and luckily, proficiency of the subject comes almost effortlessly.
Durning my first year, sophomore year of high school, at The Cleveland School of the Arts, Mr. Petro's Algebra class was scheduled directly after Stringed Orchestra rehearsal. I was new to the school and did not know anyone, so naturally I positioned myself within the front row of seats, roughly 15 degree east of Mr. Petro's desk. Interestingly enough, it seems that I have formed a habit to choose a seat somewhere in the front row, as to not miss any new knowledge I can acquire, while in the classroom setting. It didn't take long for Mr. Petro to recognize my skill of Mathematics, approaching me regrading a math competition that the school was to participate in. After a good half an hour of coercion, I reluctantly agreed to becoming the fourth member of the school's math team, assembled strictly for the competition.
The main reasoning for me agreeing to such a commitment, was an approved excuse to miss a half of day of school.
