All students found themselves quickly becoming aquatinted with the yellow school bus as it was the only source of approved transportation off of the campus grounds
It was a Saturday, and all classes were finished for the weekend. The California Summer Music Faculty had arranged a trip to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I had the majority of my piano duo completed, at the time, so I saw no reason not to go.
We boarded the yellow school bus and I quickly found a window seat. I have always been fond of window seats, mainly for the incredible view they have to offer. Only minutes after I had sat down, already absorbing the beauty of the school's campus from my window seat, a petite girl with dark hair approached me asking if the seat next to me was already taken. I bashfully said no, offering her the seat. She then tried to engage me in conversation by asking me what I studied. Her name was Maria, and she was a piano performance student from Caracas, Venezuela.
The yellow school bus came to a halt, signaling us that we had arrived at our destination. The faculty members packed us into the lobby of the Aquarium instructing us to pair up with another student, and... I was instantly engaged by the beauty of the Aquarium, whose forces of attraction seemed to pull me into a nearby hallway.
Though it had seemed only a short time had passed, I contemplated returning to the Aquarium's main entrance lobby to see if any other students where waiting there. When I turned the corner, now facing the main entrance of the Aquarium, I was shocked to see the entire California Summer Music body, both faculty members and students, seated in the lobby. A faculty member then quickly approached me asking me if I was alright. I explained that I was fine, inquiring her of her concern. She then explained that all students were instructed to pair up with another student returning to the lobby at the specified time. When you did not return, everyone waited, for the better part of two hours, concerned, while Aquarium staff members searched the Aquarium and it's vicinity in hopes of locating you.
