After reviewing the musical score, I then divided it into three layers, both sonically and visually. I assigned the background layer to the staccato string section. The foreground lighting of the Tomasso Antonio brand to the theme and the foreground movement of the brand to the percussive section.
I began with the lighting of the background first. The staccato string section is a sixteenth note phrase that starts on a single note and builds into a triad, or three note chord. Naturally I divided the background into three reference frames. The first frame is set to a 130% lens flare value which produces a single circular aura of light, when looking at the outermost lines of the circle. As the percentage of the lens flare is increased by 5% an additional aura is added to the primary one. Such an occurrence builds a triad of light that replicates the triad that is built sonically.
The second step, when dealing with the background, was to creating a flickering effect that replicates the sixteenth note phrasing of the string section. If you reference the audio and video syncopation chart you will note that each sixteenth note is allotted 4 frames per second. I started by sustaining a background that utilized the lens flare effect for 2 frames. I then alternated it with 2 frames of a background that did not utilize the lens flare effect. This simple pattern creates the illusion that the background lighting is flickering to the sixteenth note phrasing of the string section.
