Skyscraper (variation)

After six weeks of crafting, the Skyscraper (variation) is set for premier.

No provided elements can technically be traced to Ryan Enzed's original version of Skyscraper. I, however, did remain loyal to the key signature. Although stems and a single MIDI file were provided I proceeded to spell out my own variation with help from my technical training and my ear. If one were to listen closely, a resemblance to the melodic portion of the song can be heard within the background string layers. I chose the word resemblance because I cannot verify that my structure of the melody is a varied version of the original. Because the MIDI file provided was not the chord progression heard, in the melody, then my recreation is merely speculation.

My choice to not include any original elements in my variation was intentional. I believe that it is my duty to include elements of myself in all compositions. And that is is important to exert an identifiable sound that distinguishes one composer from that of the next.
